Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Glamorganshire, South Wales

Our relations with the press continue to be harmonious, no criticism of Christian Science having appeared which needed correction. In spite of the difficulties which paper shortage brings, space has been found in one paper for full excerpts from the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly on alternate weeks, and the complete set of the Gems of Thought series nearly as often. In another paper the excerpts have appeared as frequently if not always in full, and one or more quotations from the Gems of Thought series appear now nearly every week in one or another edition of the same paper, which is circulated in different districts. They have also appeared on one or two occasions in other local papers.

Only one correction has been necessary during the year. In a sermon Christian Science was mentioned in a way which showed the clergyman misunderstood its teaching. He was shown from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy where his idea of Christian Science was faulty, and a very harmonious conversation followed.
