With the earnest desire to let my light shine in witnessing to the Christ. Truth, as revealed by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. I give this testimony.

Christian Science was presented to me about eight years ago at a time of uncertainty and perplexity. A dear friend gave me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. This friend advised me to read whenever I was troubled, and to have the book always at my side. On a previous occasion she had said to me that I should have to straighten out my thinking. She pointed out that sickness is the result of material thinking and is healed by divine Mind. This truth seemed logical and practical to me.

In the endeavor to understand more of this Science I went to see a practitioner, whose name was selected from The Christian Science Journal. The beauty and uplift of that beloved practitioner's treatment will always remain with me. I was instantly healed of a good deal of selfishness. She told me that God is Love, and that because whatever seemed to be wrong did not belong to God, it therefore did not belong to God's man. I was told that I was immortal, not mortal. She cautioned me not to speak of the good that I did, adding that God rewards according to motive, not according to deed. The Lesson-Sermons were called to my attention, and she showed me how to use the Christian Science Quarterly. One of the references that I was given for study is on page 454 of Science and Health, "Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind, and form the perfect concept."
