Mrs. Mary Burrow Johnson, Committee on Publication for Virginia
Daily Press,
Newport News
It has come to my attention that a correspondent writing recently in your columns has made certain statements which might be interpreted as relating to the doctrine of Christian Science.
Since the writer of the article is apparently referring to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, I should like the privilege of pointing out that Mrs. Eddy did not teach "that we are God." nor is there anything in her writings which could be remotely construed to mean that she believed herself to be God, or that healing in Christian Science is based upon any such belief.
