Good Business

World conditions today are raising many problems in business. Some people believe that they have too much business, while others believe their business is failing because of governmental restrictions. Christian Science, the law of God applied to the affairs of men, says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Mrs. Eddy in her works instructs students of Christian Science to turn to the words and works of Christ Jesus for their example in bringing the law of God to bear upon their human affairs.

Jesus, even at the age of twelve, said, "Wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?" Thus from his boyhood he saw clearly what his work was to be. What did he mean by the "Father's business"? "Business" is defined by Webster as "one's rightful work"; hence Jesus must have seen his work, his business, to be the demonstration of the activity of God, good, his Father. Certainly his life attested this, for in his every act and thought he sought to prove the allness of Almighty God.

Today we hear about big business, little business, good business, or poor business. We think of my business, our business, my neighbor's business; but do we often think of the Father's business, the only real business? Is our concept of business the same as that of Jesus, our Way-shower?
