Deep gratitude to God prompts me to bear witness to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. I attended the Christian Science Sunday School for three years, and church services for several years. In February, 1943, I became suddenly ill, and asked for Christian Science treatment. After one week my parents became quite alarmed and sent for a physician. I was not conscious at the time. My case was pronounced encephalitis and pneumonia.

The doctors (we had four in all) told my mother that they could do nothing for me; that I did not respond to any medical treatment. During all this time I was unconscious. They finally informed my mother that they did not believe I could live more than two or two and a half hours.

Christian Science help was then earnestly sought. The practitioner requested my relatives to cling to the truth that God was my Life; that in Him, in infinite Life, I lived and had my being, and as God's child I reflected Life, not death. Faithful Christian Science work was done for me. Before I regained consciousness, my parents said that I refused to take medicine, and talked continuously for one hour, voicing statements of Truth.
