With loving gratitude for the joy of knowing Christian Science I submit the following testimony.

In the winter of 1940 my son lay in a hospital unconscious as the result of a cycling accident. After spending the night and part of the next day with him I was told to be prepared for the worst, since he was suffering from terrible head injuries and severe shock. In great fear and distress I felt I must have help from a Christian Science practitioner, but that meant leaving my boy, and the one in charge said she could give me no promise that he would be alive on my return. I decided I would leave him in God's care; it was all I could do. I went and got my message through to a practitioner. I cannot remember anything of what she said, but a wonderful feeling of joy and peace, such as I had never known before, came to me. It was a heavenly experience. Fear left me and I knew all was well with my boy. For three days he remained unconscious, but on the second day after that, when I asked him how he was feeling, he replied, "Far too well to be lying here." He made a wonderful and a complete recovery, never feeling the least pain or headache, nor has he had any ill effects since.

I owe much to Christian Science and to the help of a practitioner. I have been given courage, after being nervous all my life. I have also been healed of severe pain in my back, which caused me a lot of discomfort in cold weather.
