Christian Science has been my...

Christian Science has been my only help and comfort for many years. I am grateful for all the physical healings I have experienced through the application of the truths of Christian Science. One demonstration, however, that has been a milestone in my experience was the disappearance of a great many warts from my hands.

About fourteen years ago it was my custom each morning while studying the Lesson-Sermon to memorize a sentence or a paragraph, thus retaining the thought during a very busy day. One day this passage from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was chosen (p. 243): "Truth, Life, and Love are a law of annihilation to everything unlike themselves, because they declare nothing except God." All through the day I steadfastly-refused to look at my hands, and every time the condition suggested itself to me I declared the truth contained in the statement just quoted, knowing that the law of God utterly destroys error of every kind. Within a week every wart had disappeared. This healing has been permanent.

I experienced another demonstration which proved that Christian Science is a religion always available and practical. It had been my desire for several years to go to the Hawaiian Islands. I dreamed about it and talked about it a great deal. From a human standpoint this move seemed impossible. One day I memorized this sentence (ibid., p. 15): "If we cherish the desire honestly and silently and humbly, God will bless it, and we shall incur less risk of overwhelming our real wishes with a torrent of words." I stopped talking about it, but continued to cherish the desire. In six months the way opened and my desire was fulfilled. I lived in Honolulu for eleven happy years.
