The attendance at a Christian Science...
The attendance at a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting changed the entire course of my life.
I was unemployed and in poor health when I took this step at my sister's recommendation. Knowing nothing of Christian Science, I was not hopeful, but I decided that at least it could not harm me to investigate. My main impression was of the peace and harmony reflected by the congregation at a time of great economic disturbance.
I was not willing to have treatment from a practitioner, for I had been in the hands of doctors, chiropractors, and faith-healers for many years without experiencing any permanent benefits, and was only prepared to investigate Christian Science provided I could achieve results through my own study of the Bible, the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and other Christian Science literature.
