Patty had been learning about God and the real man since she had been going to the Christian Science Sunday School. She especially loved the firm declaration made in the first chapter of Genesis, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him."

She had been healed, too through her understanding of this truth, of physical difficulties, such as colds and headaches. Now there was a big problem for her to solve, and she didn't seem to be making any headway.

Ever since she was a little girl, Patty had had a difficult temper. Her mother, who did not at that time know about Christian Science had tried to teach her that she must control it and she had honestly tried to do so. Sometimes she succeeded. More often she did not. Her two older brothers made fun of her, and that did not help matters.
