It has been my privilege to testify on numerous occasions at Wednesday evening meetings to the healing efficacy of Christian Science in the overcoming of physical difficulties, business problems, the regeneration of character, and the overcoming of obnoxious habits, as well as in providing protection, inspiration, and clear instances of divine guidance. I am at a foreign post, in the service of my country, and my precious books and the periodicals, which are weeks old when they reach me, are the only visible link with church. It seems a fitting time to send a written word of praise and gratitude for all the blessings which have come to me through the understanding of Christian Science.

I was without a religion when Christian Science found me, and I was attracted by its logic and reasonableness. It explained many things which had previously seemed unexplainable. I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, but not being in need of physical healing I put the book aside.

It was not until several years later, when I was confronted with a problem of lack—lack of employment—that I had occasion to get down to work and learn something about Christian Science. I consider the nine or ten months I spent outwardly unemployed the most profitable period of my life, and the one that has paid the greatest dividends. The dividends were spiritual, but they brought with them all that is needful in a material way. During this period of study, contemplation, and work, my character, my habits, and my entire outlook on life changed.
