Many wonderful healings have...
Many wonderful healings have come to our family through the study of Christian Science and the work of faithful practitioners. The first healing was experienced by my sister, who was healed of tuberculosis, and the rest of our family became interested through her healing.
A few years after this a goiter appeared on my neck. At first I thought that with our own work and the help of a practitioner I should soon be healed, but it proved not to be so, for in spite of the work done by faithful practitioners, the manifestation seemed to grow rapidly until I presented a very unpleasant picture to those who saw me. I knew that Christian Science is an exact Science, just as exact as is mathematics, and since I knew that all mathematical problems can be solved if the rules are followed, so I also knew that I should be healed if I obeyed the rules of Christian Science.
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 13), "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals." And also (p. 410): "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love."
