About twelve years ago, Christian Science was called to my attention through the healing of my father. After this healing I was sent to the Christian Science Sunday School. For a while I attended in the attitude of merely complying with a parental request, but as time went on, and my understanding of Christian Science increased, my attitude changed. I came to understand God as "a very present help in trouble." My complete faith and reliance are now reposed in Him "with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

About four years ago I had very practical proof of the efficacy of Christian Science in the healing of a fractured elbow. One night, while roller skating, I tripped and fell over backwards, landing with all my weight of one hundred and seventy pounds on my left elbow. Through the application of Christian Science I was enabled immediately to overcome the pain, and I continued to go about my regular duties. After eight weeks an X ray revealed that the bone had been definitely broken at the elbow joint. The healing of this condition through Christian Science is, to me, another evidence of the possibilities of mental surgery.

My thought recurs again and again with gratitude to the instruction which I received in the Christian Science Sunday School. I am also grateful for the opportunities that have been given me to serve on committees, as usher, and in various other ways the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I am a member.
