Love's Omnipotence
We
do not know the ways our loved should take,
But gratefully we leave them in God's hands;
He knows the paths they all must tread alone,
Their needs, for happiness, He understands.
I used to try to guide their daily lives,
Thinking parental love could light the way,
But soon I saw the powerlessness of love
Which would alone the human scepter sway.
Now, every day and every hour I pray!
Doubt can never stop my prayer unceasing,
My certain faith in Love's omnipotence
Is—unknown to them—my loved releasing.
