Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England (First Church). —First Church of Christ, Scientist, Cheltenham, has just passed a milestone in its history, for on Sunday, September 13, 1942, the church building in Bayshill Road was dedicated.
In July, 1909, Christian Science Society, Cheltenham, was organized. Several rooms were taken at 3 Cambray, where services were held, and a Reading Room was opened in the following January.
In 1911, the first lecture was given in the main hall of the Town Hall. The next year a Sunday school was started.
