"I know thee by name"
I know
thee by thy name! Could any words
More dear and close relationship convey?
For name expresses nature; thus with thee,
Thou dost thy Maker's likeness now portray.
That perfect selfhood, free of matter's dross,
Conceived by Mind, is formed by Truth alone;
Maintained by Love in realms of endless Life,
Where God is All, and Soul doth claim its own.
Thou art not subject to the whims of chance,
No nameless wanderer thou, on shores of time.
Omnipotence doth gird thy every step,
Each day leads on to wider views sublime.
