Our Daily Bread
Each
good and perfect gift we know
That cometh from above
Expounds anew to waiting hearts
The wondrous love of Love.
Each lesson learned, each ill destroyed,
Each cleansing test of pain,
Renews the wise and blest command,
Thou must be born again.
Though difficult our way may seem,
Assailed by want and sin,
In faith we heed the Master's words,
God's kingdom is within!
Then grace will fill each hour, each day,
If we but lift our gaze
And try to make each deed a prayer,
Each word a hymn of praise.
