Quiet Sanctuary

If doubt, or sin, or fear
Becloud my consciousness, and hide
Love's healing presence, near.

And here I lift in gratitude
A silent song of praise
To Him whose glory guards the night
And lights earth-darkened days.

For me, within this quiet place,
A sweet assurance waits
That shuts the door on mortal stress
And opens hallowed gates.
