In connection with my husband's...

In connection with my husband's testimony, I should like to add a small detail which may be of help to others. When our younger son was suffering from the ailment mentioned, we noticed how very distended and hard his abdomen appeared to be. That condition was, I believed, called flatulency, and I knew that Mrs. Eddy has said on page 413 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "Giving drugs to infants, noticing every symptom of flatulency, and constantly directing the mind to such signs,—that mind being laden with illusions about disease, health-laws, and death,—these actions convey mental images, to children's budding thoughts, and often stamp them there, making it probable at any time that such ills may be reproduced in the very ailments feared." I found that a dictionary definition of "flatulent" was "pretentious, without substance.'" We thought what an excellent definition that was of error of all sorts, and after discussing the subject a while, we dismissed it from our minds, and in a short time the condition was overcome.

I became interested in Christian Science about thirty years ago, when my father was healed of the smoking habit through the help of a practitioner. My first healing was that of an ulcerated tooth, which yielded almost instantly to absent treatment. For a long time before I was willing to accept Christian Science as a religion, I was thoroughly convinced of its efficacy in the healing of physical ills. For years I had been an earnest student of the Bible, and from time to time questions would arise in my mind which the church to which I belonged seemed unable to answer. When I found these answers in Christian Science, then I turned wholeheartedly to it, and I have enjoyed membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church for the past twenty-five years. Our three children were all born in Science and have known no other religion or method of healing.

It is a joy to add my gratitude to God to that of so many others for Mrs. Eddy's wonderful explanation of the truth as taught by Christ Jesus, and for the loving work of all those connected with our beloved church.—(Mrs.) Myra W. H. Casavant, Chicago, Illinois.
