I should like to express the...

I should like to express the gratitude I feel for Christian Science and for the understanding it has given me of the omnipresence and omnipotence of God. Wherever we are, whatever the need may be, God's angel thoughts are present to sustain and guide.

Some time ago, whilst at work, I fell heavily, knocking the back of my head against a sharp edge of wood. I did not quite lose consciousness, and found myself declaring the truth regarding accidents, found on page 424 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader. Mary Baker Eddy; and also on page 393, where she says, "Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation."

I was aware that there was a large cut in the back of my head which was bleeding profusely. There were several people present, none of whom were Christian Scientists, and all expressed great concern and brought material remedies. These I did not accept, although I appreciated their kindness. I went to the telephone and rang up a practitioner for help. The reply came with the assurance that the accident had never actually happened; and as I went away from the telephone our Leader's words from page 22 of "Unity of Good" came into my thought: "Thou shalt not admit that error is something to know or be known, to eat or be eaten, to see or be seen, to feel or be felt. To admit the existence of error would be to admit the truth of a lie." I was able to carry on my work normally for the rest of the day, and had no pain whatever. Next day the wound was healed.
