In gratitude to God and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to assure others that they, too, can be healed by Christian Science, I wish to give this testimony.

I had been interested in Christian Science for some time when the desire came to me one day to discard my glasses, which I had worn for a number of years. For a day or two going without them presented considerable difficulty, for eyestrain had been causing me intense suffering for many months, even with the use of glasses, but with the help of a practitioner this condition was quickly and completely healed. From that time on my interest increased, and I began a sincere study of our beloved textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

About five years ago, after a stay of two years and a half in Japan, where I had been teaching and tutoring, I left there to visit friends in China. On the second night out I was found lying on the bathroom floor unconscious. A kind schoolteacher, whom I had met on the boat, took charge of me when we landed in Taku and had me taken to Peking.
