Among the Churches
Current Notes
Welland, Ontario (First Church).—First Church of Christ, Scientist, Welland, a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, was dedicated at morning and afternoon services on Sunday, September 28, 1941.
The laying of the cornerstone for the handsome new edifice on October 15, 1940, just five months after the building lot was purchased, was a milestone in the growth of Christian Science Society, Welland, which came into being on Christmas Eve, 1913.
Fourteen years later the society, which was accepted as such by The Mother Church in Boston, was incorporated as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Welland, Ontario, and in June, 1928, received a charter from the provincial government.
