Redemptive Thinking

What a joyful experience it is when the realization first comes that the earnest study and honest practice of Christian Science reveal the perfection of the universe, of creation, of man; that they give us the means of working out individual redemption; that they actually enable us, step by step, to manifest our true spiritual nature and being in human experience, and to see the false material concept of man disappear from view.

Our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes on page 202 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "If men would bring to bear upon the study of the Science of Mind half the faith they bestow upon the so-called pains and pleasures of material sense, they would not go on from bad to worse, until disciplined by the prison and the scaffold; but the whole human family would be redeemed through the merits of Christ,—through the perception and acceptance of Truth."

As one begins to understand in some measure the import of these words, it becomes clear that Christian Science is the Science of redemption, and that its study brings to light the facts of being, causing false beliefs to disappear. It begins to be apparent that we have been quite ignorant of ourselves even as human beings.
