Among the Churches

Current Notes

Vista, California (First Church).—Morning and afternoon services marking the dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Vista, were held on Sunday, September 7, 1941. This means that the church is free from debt, since it is the rule that Christian Science churches must be fully paid for before they are dedicated.

Christian Science Society, Vista, was organized in early November of 1929, as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

For two years previous, services had been held in the home of one of the students, and in a room in First National Bank building. At the time of organization the society moved to the newly erected Woman's Club house, where services were held until July, 1940, when the church building was ready to be occupied.

The society became First Church of Christ, Scientist, Vista, as of August, 1941.—Press.
