"O magnify the Lord with me,...

"O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together." Like David, I too want to praise the name of the Lord for His infinite goodness to all mankind.

It was not with any thought of being healed physically that I started to read Mrs. Eddy's writings, but with the desire to please a member of my family who had been wonderfully healed of a so-called dread disease. After a few weeks of reading the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, I decided one day that I would not take any more medicine for a chronic condition of constipation, to which I had been in bondage since I was a small child. Almost immediately I found that I was free from this condition, and there has never been any return of it. That healing took place over nineteen years ago. Then I began in earnest to study Christian Science, for that healing proved to me that it was not only a religion but a remedial agent for all inharmonious conditions.

One healing which has been a constant source of encouragement when problems arise was that of stomach, gall bladder, and liver trouble. This healing was very slow, for there seemed to be many wrong conditions to overcome. At one time there was a period of nearly three weeks when I was unable to retain any food, and about ten days when I could not even retain a little water. At times discouragement almost overwhelmed me, but in the darkest hour, when I seemed to go down into "the valley of the shadow," I never doubted that divine Love would heal me. From that moment I began to improve. It was several weeks before I was completely healed. I shall never cease to be grateful for those who stood by me so faithfully through this experience, for the practitioner, the nurse, and loved ones.
