I Shall Rejoice

I shall rejoice this hour to know
Humility and grace
Can open heaven's holy door
To all in any place.

I shall be glad unfailingly
That Love rules—never hate;
And for the touch of tenderness
There is no need to wait.

I shall refuse to see a world
In sorrow and distress,
But deeply, truly realize
Truth governs but to bless.

And I shall strive to prove each day
The master Christian's plan
Of peace and hope and brotherhood—
God's kingdom come to man.
