After Asking

Dear Father, I will ask no more.
It is enough that Thou dost give
All that I need. I pray to live
Closer to loving than I lived before.

Let tenderness and healing grace
Be through my life a proof of Thee.
Let Thy compassion speak by me,
Showing sure waters in the desert place.
