Love Never Fails

Ofttimes though listening all the day
No answer to my call I hear;
Yet humbly, earnestly, I pray
That through the gloom light will appear.

The daystar dawns; I hear Truth speak
And bid all strife and fear be still;
Reveal the way for those who seek
To know and do the Father's will.

Before this light the shadows flee,
Illumined is the thought perturbed,
For Truth has made the prisoner free,
Since quick and powerful is the Word.

Nor do we ever wait in vain;
Love never fails, but must endure,
Changing our losses into gain,
For Love's reward is ever sure.
