I feel that I want to tell of some...
I feel that I want to tell of some of the healings which have come to my family and to me through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science. It has meant more to me than anything that has ever come into my life; and my gratitude for what I have learned about God and man's relation to Him, can never be measured in words.
I took up the study of Christian Science for physical healing, and the benefits I have received have been widespread. Early in our study, our little girl became ill with what the doctor said was pleurisy. After several days of medical treatment, with no improvement in the child's condition, my husband gave his consent to have a practitioner called. One came to our home, and talked with me about Christian Science for over an hour, explaining lovingly and patiently that God had made His children perfect, and that we could see that perfection. At the end of that time, she rose to leave without seeing the child, and said to me, "Now when you go upstairs, you will find that your little girl is well." I went to the child, and to my great surprise she was sitting up in bed and asked immediately for something to eat. At first I was fearful, but I remembered what I had been told—that there was nothing to fear and that the child was under God's protecting care. The next day she was about her play as usual.
A number of years ago, my back was seemingly badly wrenched when an automobile in which I was a passenger overturned. I insisted upon being taken to my home, and a practitioner was called immediately. She worked faithfully, but I had to overcome a strong feeling of resentment toward the driver of the other car before I was entirely free. When the practitioner reminded me that God is the only creator and needs all His ideas to express Himself, the whole situation cleared up at once, and I was able to go about my household duties.
