My gratitude will permit of no further delay in acknowledging the great benefits I have received from the study and application of Christian Science. It is the greatest thing that ever came into my life.

In what seemed to be great fear, confusion, lack, and pain, I turned in the year 1909 to the study of Science, and I daily thank God that a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy fell into my hands. Through reading this book I was healed of rheumatism of many years' standing, numerous attacks of severe headaches, sore throat and fever, and constipation. I have never since suffered from any of these ailments. My gratitude increases daily for the light shed upon the Scriptures by our dear Leader, who was so pure and sincere in pointing the way.

In February, 1938, I fell, breaking the large bone in one of my legs. A faithful practitioner was called, and took up the work. The bone was set by a competent surgeon, and I passed through the experience with no sign of depression or fever, and suffered no pain, except from four o'clock in the afternoon until the next morning. On the third day I was able to read alone the Lesson-Sermon as given in the Christian Science Quarterly. In two weeks and a half I walked with the aid of crutches, and four weeks from that time I walked without them. In May I was free to take part in church activities, substituting as First Reader for some time.
