For a long time I have been desirous of giving a testimony of the regenerating and healing power of Christian Science, as it has been proved to me. Traits of character which I did not know could be so injurious to health, such as jealousy, resentment, doubt, fear, and disappointment, are gradually fading away and giving place to poise and a more spiritual understanding, which I know now is the only thing adequate to meet our daily needs, in whatever form mortal mind tries to camouflage daily experience.

I have had many healing. One was of neuritis; on another occasion, when my hands were jammed in a window and it was ten or fifteen minutes before release came, I realized what the Sunday school means to our children. My two daughters were quite small at the time and the only ones in the house, but although I was in this predicament they expressed no fear. The elder one merely said, "Mummy, you are all right." They then got assistance from passers-by, and when I was free the same daughter said I should read from page 330 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. All I had been able to hold on to was part of "the scientific statement of being" (p. 468), "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter." That alone sustained me during the ordeal, and in a very short time I was busy about the house. There was no broken skin or aftereffect of any kind. Many more physical healings, both for myself and for the children, have been brought about either with my husband's help or through the work of a practitioner.

To the practitioner I am profoundly grateful, for she certainly has had Christly patience with me and at times has gently led me along a very stony path, always lovingly and encouragingly. My husband, too, has had wonderful patience. I realize now how faithful they have been, and why they have been so, for I understand better that the Christian Scientist's task is to prove in his daily life what he professes.
