Among the Churches

Current Notes

Liberty, New York (First Church).—Christian Science Society of Liberty, located at Buckley Street and Willey Avenue, was incorporated on March 26, 1941, as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Liberty, New York.

The background and history of the church reads as follows: In 1910, services were held on Buckley Street, in the home of a student of Christian Science. Shortly thereafter, the attendance having increased, larger accommodations were secured in the Porges Building, later in the Green Building, and then in the National Bank Building. In October, 1926, a church edifice was erected on land given by the same generous student. In May, 1929, dedication services were held. (A Christian Science church must be free from debt before dedication.)—Sullivan County Press.

Seattle, Washington (Seventh Church).—Two dedication services were held at Seventh Church of Christ, Scientist, Seattle, on Sunday, March 30, 1941, one in the morning and the other in the evening.
