Christian Science was introduced to me through copies of the Journal and Sentinel which I found in a rack maintained for them in a railroad station. Upon returning to my home city, I learned that a member of my family was suffering from a nervous breakdown. I had been reading the periodicals for some time, and I asked the family if they were willing to try Christian Science in this case. With their assent I requested help from a practitioner, and healing followed.

It was at this point that I borrowed a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy at the Christian Science Reading Room, with the thought of learning how this healing was brought about. After a few days' study, I was so impressed by its teachigs that I used the last few dollars I had to purchases a copy of my own.

Before coming to Science I was a freethinker, a fatalist; and while I never denied that there was a God, I pleaded ignorance of His existence and nature. Christian Science changed all this. It has acquainted me with Him as divine Love, and for many years the acquaintanceship has been steadily deepening, with the result that today I inherently feel that I am one with Him and His universe.
