On pages 132 and 133 and 133 of "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes of divine Love as follows: "It binds up the broken-hearted; heals the poor body, whose whole head is sick and whose heart is faint; comforts such as mourn, wipes away the unavailing, tired tear, brings back the wanderer to the Father's house in which are many mansions, many welcomes, many pardons for the penitent." I am one of the vast multitude who have found the foregoing to be true, because Christian Science has healed, comforted, and blessed me immeasurably.

Before this Science came into my life I went through a major operation. Many stitches were taken internally, and although I did not enjoy robust health afterwards, the work done by the physicians lasted for several years. Then one morning, about fourteen years ago, I was suddenly seized with violent pain, and realized that the stitches had given way. We called at once for help in Christian Science, and work was continued for two weeks. About midnight on the last night it seemed as though all hope were gone. My husband went downstairs, to be met by two dear friends, who gave him fresh courage and told him to go and work for the glory of God. He again called the practitioner, and by daybreak the healing came, and I was instantaneously restored to health. This was a beautiful case of mental surgery. There was no convalescence, and the healing has been permanent. For the wonderful work of practitioner, for the loving help of my family and friends, I shall never cease to be grateful.

Christian Science has also healed me of an ulcerated stomach, severe burns, and quinsy; and biliousness, which had clouded my youth, disappeared, though very slowly.
