God's Voice

God speaks, and every doubt is stilled,
Grief comforted, and sickness healed;
His Word, with calm assurance filled,
Is heard, and error's doom is sealed.

Oh, listen for that "still small voice,"
With ears fast closed against the din
Of evil; listen and rejoice!
It calls you from the way of sin.

Not in the fire, nor in the wind,
Not in the earthquake's dreadful sound,
Does God reveal His mighty Mind;
In quiet moments He is found.

Within the closet's fast-shut door,
Away from mortal sense's call,
Man will meet God, and evermore
Know all is His, and He is All.
