Having experienced the help and protection of Christian Science...
Having experienced the help and protection of Christian Science since 1920, it is with deep gratitude that I write this testimony. It is my prayer that I may be able to help and encourage others in their journey from sense to Soul.
I did not take up the study of Christian Science for physical healing, but for spiritual uplift. I was very unhappy and had a melancholy disposition. The church of which I was a member failed to comfort me any longer. My mother, who lived close by, was given a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel. She read this and then borrowed "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy from the public library. Just through reading this book she was healed of severe stomach trouble. We were together daily and she read to me. I am sure that at that time I should have been very slow to read for myself, but I listened to please her in her happiness over her healing. I found the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly comforting, interesting, and satisfying; the periodicals were feasts; and step by step Christian Science has proved to be the greatest blessing in my life. I fail to find words to express my gratitude. It has given me a new interest in life, and has made the rough places smooth.
At the beginning of my study our youngest son, about four years old, had what the doctors called articular rheumatism. My husband was not a Christian Scientist, but when the doctor told him he could do no more for the child and it was just a matter of time, he told me I could do as I liked. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who began treatment, and immediately the child began to improve. After three more attacks, each one less severe, he was healed.
