Among the Churches

Current Notes

Frankford News Gleaner

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Sixth Church).—Dedication services of Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, Philadelphia, were conducted on Sunday, November 24, 1940, in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

This church was organized in 1927, and is a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. Its present structure at 4720 Leiper Street, was purchased in 1928, and has twice been enlarged and remodeled.

This event is of special significance to the local members because it is an invariable rule of the Christian Science denomination that no church can be dedicated until it is free of debt.—Frankford News Gleaner.
