Words are inadequate to express the joy and gratitude which impel me to add my testimony to the thousands which have already been given since our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, opened up for humanity the treasures of the life of our Master and revealed their true signification.

When Christian Science knocked at my door, I was among the "godless," and matter was for me the only reality. The infinite power of Spirit, manifested in the most positive manner in the experience of a beloved one, stirred in me the great desire to find out the reason for and cause of this power.

I was living in Geneva, Switzerland, when Christian Science gave me my first proof of the power of Spirit. A store, which I had not been able to sell, was sold the day after we asked the help of a practitioner. My dear wife, who was laboring under the bondage of a sickness which the most devoted doctors could not alleviate, and for which they considered there was no remedy, was healed instantaneously through Christian Science. My mother-in-law, who was already in the shadow of the death valley, was also instantaneously awakened from the dream of error. Eight o'clock found her already cold, but at eleven, when a doctor came to bring us the death certificate, she was sitting up in bed eating a beefsteak.
