Signs of the Times
Topic: Easter
[The Archbishop of Canterbury, in the Guardian, London, England]
Easter Day rises. It brings the ever-renewed assurance that evil has been and can be conquered, and that every sacrifice offered to the call of duty or at the bidding of love will be vindicated in the end. In the midst of all our perplexities and trials the spirit of the risen Lord can give to us "the power of his resurrection"—the power to rise above them and to look beyond them. Wherefore let us meet Easter even in this time of darkness with the summons, "Rise, heart: thy Lord is risen."
