Eternally Christ Lives

Eternally Christ lives.
Christ lives today;
And age on age shall never take
The Christ I know away.

No stable dim awaits the Christ,
No grave on somber mountainside;
No resurrection day,
For Christ has never died.

And year by year, and now
I work and watch, relying
On Christ which did not know a birth,
So could not know a dying.

My joy in Christ eternal
Knows no night to its voicing;
I stand upon the mountaintop,
Not mourning, but rejoicing.
