Over twenty-six years ago my testimony appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel. At that time I had a wonderful healing of a so-called hopeless condition, by reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The healing was accomplished by my learning from the perusal of the book that God did not make one sick; that He knew nothing about sickness; that I did not have to be sick and suffer for another minute, because God was good; that He loved me, and knew only good; and that evil had not an atom of power or activity to affect me at all. I was so enthusiastic, and so filled with unbounded faith, that many and marvelous were the physical healings that family and friends experienced; also many types of discord were overcome and various false material laws rendered null and void.

I seemed to be on the mountaintop, but this was not the result of spiritual growth or scientific understanding. Like many another I had to come down into the valley and commence my journey from sense to Soul, not by leaps and bounds, but step by step.

In my journey I have learned that no material condition, possession, or pleasure satisfies; that all hopes and plans of a human and personal nature are, to say the least, disappointing. I have been wonderfully blessed during the years, however, and have had countless proofs of God's power and omnipotence and the practicablity of the Christ-healing.
