As my gratitude for Christian Science increases, my appreciation of its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, deepens. So many blessings have come to us through the study and application of Christian Science that it is difficult to know which to relate first.

I had always read the Bible and loved it, had always prayed and felt that many of my prayers were answered, but I had often wondered why our prayers did not heal as did those of Jesus. Soon after beginning the earnest study of Christian Science I had an instantaneous healing of a severe burn through my own understanding of the truth as taught by Mrs. Eddy, and this was most precious to me because burns had always seemed very real and painful. After this most convincing proof nothing could persuade me that I had not found a religion which was all-sufficient.

I then decided that I could rely wholly on God for the healing of my sons, and I soon had the opportunity of seeing one of these sons healed of a severe attack of stomach trouble by our understanding of God as all-powerful. Although these attacks had occurred periodically, he never has had another attack since that healing. Through the understanding our elder son gained in the Christian Science Sunday School, he was freed from wearing glasses, which had one very thick lens. This son also had a remarkable healing when his hand was badly cut by a band saw at school. The saw went between the second and third fingers into the hand, severing the tendons. The surgeon to whom he was taken from school said that if he kept those two fingers he would never be able to use them. He went back to school from the surgeon's office, declining to be brought home, for he said he had to prove to himself that the accident was unreal. Under Christian Science treatment his hand healed beautifully, and he has the use of all of his fingers, as well as the rest of his hand. A younger son was healed in a few days of double pneumonia.
