"And their soul shall be as a watered garden"

How simply and beautifully the prophet Jeremiah describes a state of health and security for which mankind has always, consciously or unconsciously, yearned, when he declares, "Their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all." This passage deserves thoughtful study, for in it Jeremiah indicates the human footsteps by which that state of blessedness may be reached. He says, "Hear the word of the Lord, ... they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd."

Christian Science is bringing to thousands the realization that the promises in the Bible are true and practical even today in the modern world. It is revealing to those who turn to it for healing that "the goodness of the Lord" is eternally present to heal and to save, and to provide us with all that we need both materially and spiritually. Many a person has tasted for the first time heavenly peace and well-being when, perhaps hesitatingly, he has turned away from material remedies and looked to God for healing. Through the study of the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, he learns how this healing is accomplished, and how he may turn daily to God in all his needs. As he does this, and allows the profound spiritual meaning of the Bible to penetrate his thinking, he will find that this spiritual meaning is actively practical in the solving of his human problems.

In turning to Truth for our well-being we find, as students of Christian Science, that we are exercising spiritual sense, of which hitherto we have not been aware. God is known only to spiritual sense. On pages 577 and 578 of the Christian Science textbook Mrs. Eddy has written, in part: "In the following Psalm one word shows, though faintly, the light which Christian Science throws on the Scriptures by substituting for the corporeal sense, the incorporeal or spiritual sense of Deity:
