Over thirty years ago my mother was healed by Christian Science of a severe crippled condition resulting from inflammatory rheumatism and rheumatic fever. Through this healing our family took up the study of Christian Science, and I had the privilege of being brought up in its teachings.

Although I depended upon this truth for healing all through my childhood, was faithful in reading the LessonSermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, and aided in starting a Christian Science organization in the college I attended, the things of this world occupied such a large share of my thought and time it was not until I was through school and at work away from home that I took up the study of this Science in earnest.

Many problems came up which were solved through the application of the truth. Periodic sick headaches, rheumatism, a tendency to colds and glandular inflammation disappeared completely. However, the greatest victories gained have been in the overcoming of faults of disposition such as criticism, selfishness, self-will, and intolerance, and in gaining a greater love for God and man.
