Christian Science has enriched my life immeasurably, and for this I am deeply grateful. My interest in it was aroused when a very dear friend was restored to health after physicians had despaired of her life. Also, her husband was healed of the need of eyeglasses. My own first healing was a very convincing one. For more than ten years I had suffered from obstructed digestion, which had resulted from an operation. At considerable expense I unsuccessfully sought relief from several physicians in various parts of the country. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to help me solve this problem. Assistance was lovingly given, and I was instantaneously healed. This consecrated worker taught me how to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, and the importance of daily and impersonal work.

I was healed of the need for eyeglasses after I had been told by an oculist that I had only one fifteenth of my vision. Since discarding them, I have obtained an M. A. and a Ph.D. degree, doing much of the work during summers and while I was teaching. Until I became a student of Christian Science. I lacked sufficient strength to attend summer school, but since then I have worked nearly every summer Christian was an invaluable aid when I took my language, preliminary, and final examinations for a Ph.D. They proved to be opportunities to demonstrate the ever-presence of infinite Mind. During the course of my graduate work, error, in various forms, tried to inject itself into my consciousness and interfere with the progress of the undertaking, but each time the problem was successfully overcome. I have had no ill effects from this strenuous work.

Christian Science has enabled me to solve three business problems without losing money, when it seemed that loss was inevitable; it has helped me to overcome besetting fear and to glimpse, for the first time, the peace "which passeth all understanding." Furthermore, a statement of Mrs. Eddy's (Science and Health 340:23) has led me to expect equal opportunity for promotions in my work, and they have come.
