In your report of an address in a recent issue the speaker was quoted as having ridiculed certain methods of alleviating human illness, including Christian Science.

I refer particularly to the speaker's reference to those who rely on spiritual means for healing, even as Christ Jesus taught and demonstrated. The speaker quoted President Washington as saying, "He that would barter his liberty for security is likely to lose both." This declaration denotes a high standard, to which all might adhere.

Jesus said, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God," and his words have comforted the hearts of parents throughout the Christian centuries. His ministry was replete with the healing of men, women, and children. Christian Science heals children as well as their parents. Their innocence and spontaneous acceptance of good reflect much of the perfect love that casts out fear.
