The Race and the Prize

[Written Especially for Young People]

Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, gives on page 583 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" the definition of "Christ" as "the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error." From this we see that the function of the Christ is to express the divine nature of God. Thus we see, also, the inseparable, everlasting unity of God and His Christ.

There is one God and one Christ. God being incorporeal, indestructible, eternal, and ever present, His manifestation, the Christ, must necessarily be incorporeal, indestructible, eternal, and ever present.

There are many who, in the midst of difficulties and problems, have gained a vision of the Christ which has enabled them to discern their divine sonship.
