Before I became insterested in Christian Science, my religion did not comfort me. I had lost all faith in God. But "man's extremity is God's opportunity." A member of my family was healed by Science of a severe case of hemorrhoids and diabetes, after one of our leading physicians had said there was no hope.

I began to study "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The knowledge that God is Love, and "a very present help in trouble," dawned upon my consciousness. Sick headaches and chronic constipation disappeared. Certain foods formerly seemed to poison me, but now I eat anything I want with no ill effect. With the help of a practitioner, I had an instantaneous healing of grief. I was also healed of rheumatism, and of a difficulty in breathing through my nose, which two operations had failed to relieve.

The Christian Science church attracted me. There were no social activities on which to lean for material pleasure, but there was manifested a sincere desire to know God, who is the source of all true happiness. I found the religion that satisfies, and I became a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church.
