I wish to express my deepest gratitude for the great help which I have received from the study of Christian Science, and I give this testimony with the hope that it may encourage others to partake of what is truly their birthright.

My first awakening to the truth of being came in the form of a direct appeal to God for help, during a trying experience in the war, when my knowledge of Christian Science was very limited indeed. On looking back, I am convinced that the fact that this call was answered instantaneously in a very wonderful way, laid the foundations for the desire, which came later, to learn more about Truth and how it operates in human affairs. It taught me first and foremost that God is ever present and available under all circumstances, and that if we turn to divine Principle with all our heart, our need will be met at once and to our complete satisfaction.

Since that first experience I have received many physical healings. A broken bone in my leg was completely healed without any material means, such as splints and so forth, being used at all. This was a case of absent treatment, information being given to the practitioner, first by telephone between Switzerland and London, and a few days later by means of wireless on board ship between England and the West Indies. An X-ray picture, taken on my return, showed the break, but the bone was reported as being perfectly set and healed. I have had gangrene from shot wounds arrested through Christian Science help. Though much fear that I might lose my leg was expressed, an extremely quick recovery was made.
