In a recent issue appears the report of an address by a professor. The speaker is reported as saying that Christian Science exists at the present time as the result of thoughtlessness and excesses on the part of doctors in the past. Christian Science is the Christ-healing which, nearly two thousand years ago, Christ Jesus presented to the world as the perfect system of healing. Spiritual healing was practiced by Jesus' followers for nearly three hundred years after his ascension. Mary Baker Eddy discovered the Science of Christianity which Christ Jesus understood and practiced. She healed the sick by spiritual means, as Jesus healed them. Christian Scientists are carrying on the work which Jesus commanded his followers to do—preaching the gospel of Truth and healing the sick and sinning.
