I am very grateful for all the help I have received through Christian Science.

Before knowing of Science I suffered severely for a long time from rheumatism in my arms and hands, and also with neuritis and swollen feet, due supposedly to bad circulation. Material remedies were powerless to heal me and relieved me only slightly for short intervals. As I was obliged to work to earn my living, my experience was rather trying. I no longer found consolation in the religion which I had previously professed; I could not accept the doctrine that God, infinite good, could send so much evil and so much distress to His children.

That was in 1924, and at that time a friend spoke to me about Christian Science as a religion which heals sickness. I accepted what she told me and then wrote to a Christian Science practitioner, who answered my letter and began treatment. I felt the benefits immediately; general weariness left me, and I experienced a deep joy at the thought that I was going to be healed.
